03.14 100 days, 100 nights
Cuomo in a blanket, NYPD Budget Hearing, Artist Sustainability Workshop & more!
100 Days vibes from the late Sharon Jones.
We are 100 days out from the NYC city-wide primary! Haven’t been paying attention? We got you covered. For starters, did you know that this is one of the most important elections in a generation? We’ll be voting on every city office, including the Mayor and 51 City Council seats. Also, because NYC is Democrat-controlled, the primary is where our electeds are chosen. This means June 22 is the day for a change!
We’ll also be using Ranked Choice Voting for every office except Manhattan District Attorney. This means we get to choose up to 5 candidates. Put your fav at #1 without the fear of siphoning votes from more mainstream candidates! We’ve got important dates, the upcoming Mayoral debates, and Ranked Choice Voting workshops in the Soft Power Vote section.
If you haven’t heard, Governor Cuomo is accused of sexual harassment and abuse by 6 women in addition to creating a toxic culture of bullying and misogyny in Albany. He’s been called to resign by some of our most powerful Democrat leaders, yet he rejects these calls and labels it “cancel culture” from his own party. Don’t forget, he also covered up the deaths of 15,000 elderly. See more of the ongoing Cuomo-Gate scandals below.
It’s Special Election season in the Boogie Down Bronx! Don’t live in the BX? Now is a GREAT time to check on your voter registration. This primary is going to be too hot to miss out on.
Also, it’s been one whole year since we’ve been in quarantine. Last year was a whole lot, but we learned, we grew, we kept it moving. Cheers to every-single-one of-us. This is also the anniversary of Breonna Taylor’s death by police. We still have so much learning to do, so buckle up fam.
