Record heat tomorrow—bring water!
We made it to Election Day!
Yo, can you believe it? It’s like it’s all happening at once: heat wave, the NBA finals are finally over and the Democratic Primary Election is finally here.
Early Voting totals CRUSHED 2021 turnout by almost double. With tomorrow being one of the hottest days of the year, if you’re hitting the polls tomorrow, bring water and perhaps allow some extra time. We’ve been hearing reports of poll workers telling people they can’t have their phones out (there’s no law against that) or that they can’t have voting materials present (you can!). So know your voting rights heading into Election Day. If any issues come up, email us at softpowervote@gmail.com or DM us on IG!
When you’re done voting, join us at Honey’s!
Know your voting rights!

Voting materials ARE ALLOWED, but the term is vague and seems like poll workers are confusing campaign collateral (candidate mailers, etc.) as MATERIALS. So it’s important for us to know our rights as voters.
NYC Votes suggests writing down your choices in their mailer to avoid confusion, but to be fair, this is NOT NORMAL behavior from poll workers. Ask for a poll site “coordinator” (aka, a supervisor) and if issues arise, call the Attorney General Election Hotline above!
